A new development at the northern end of Limerston Street, near its junction with Fulham Road, has recently been completed. Replacing a dated, three storey post-war apartment building, with the construction of two four-bed houses of 3,000 sq ft and an apartment block, consisting six one- two- and three- bed apartments totalling 5,400 sq ft. The houses incorporate sub-basement media and entertainment rooms, lower ground kitchen and dining areas, ground floor receptions with double height atria to the rear patio gardens.
The site was excavated to 8m below street level to create a double basement ‘box’ which provides parking for electric motor-scooters and bicycles. The reinforced concrete frame is clad in London yellow stock brick and stone cladding. Six bores for ground source heat pumps have been drilled to a depth of 120 meters, two per house and two for the apartment block, to provide central heating and hot water in the winter and cooling in the summer.
