Our designated Code Assessor will conduct initial design stage assessments, recommend a sustainability stategy and obtain code certificates. The assessor will perform a post completion check on a sample basis, to verify the rating, before a final code certificate of compliance is issued. We will work closely with the project team at all stages of the construction process.
We will advise at an early stage how to effective obtain the credits for mandatory criteria such as Energy efficiency, Water efficiency, Surface water, Site waste management, Household waste management,Use of materials. We can also audit Lifetime Homes and provide detailed advice on practical approach to integrating with renewables and passivhaus design.
Our Sustainability successes include:-
EcoHomes : in 2007 we achieved the first “Excellent” certification in the South West of England for Hastoe Housing Association, for a small and sensitive development in village in East Devon. This was subsequently repeated in mid 2008 on larger housing schemes in Halberton and Uffculme.
Code for Sustainable Homes: we regularly advise on affordable housing projects that obtain Code Level 4 in a cost effective manner in both rural and urban locations and can provide advice on how to achieve the higher levels of Code certification.
Passivhaus: we were the Employers Agent for the first certified Passivhaus scheme of 20nr affordable dwellings in Cornwall for Aster Homes in 2012.
